"Hey, you've reached Naegi Makoto. I'm sorry, but I can't answer right now. If you leave a message I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. Please take care!" VOICE | TEXT | VIDEO | ACTION
[ It doesn't even take a minute for Naegi to answer. He was obviously waiting around, but...
Well, what else was there to do? Creepy things have been happening and he's honestly always more at ease when some of his friends are around. Even if he probably shouldn't be given some of the stuff that happened at Hope's Peak, but alas. ]
Kuwata-kun! Hey... [ "At least nothing killed you on the way here" is probably not comforting and honestly hadn't occurred to him until Leon had already left, so moving on. ] Did you want anything to drink or eat...?
[The entire trek over here--short as it was--had felt surreal and paranoia-inducing. A part of Leon hadn't been convinced he was even awake yet after that dream. He'd gotten half dressed in a sort of daze, double-checking every sound, the lock on his door; walking down the hallway had been an exercise in feeling like he might just drop through it into another nightmare at any second.
But this is even weirder. Naegi opening the door to his totally normal apartment, asking him if he wants anything . . . it's all so ordinary that Leon finally feels fully awake, all at once, and--safe. Mostly. At least, not like Naegi's suddenly going to turn into a monster, or suddenly start strangling him, or anything.
He steps inside, blinking and taking a curious look around.]
Uh . . . I guess just some water. What kinda tea was it?
[ Naegi is probably the least likely person in the world to suddenly start strangling a person, if nothing else. He is really good at the whole not killing people thing. That should have been his SHSL talent: SHSL Not A Murderer.
The apartment looks pretty clean and lived-in to an extent. There's some clutter, but it's mostly contained to the coffee table and a countertop in the kitchen, and even that's mostly organized. Naegi's favored greens and browns to decorate in, and though there aren't too many decorations (aside from some flowers in a vase on the dining room table) there do seem to be a few pictures of their class framed and scattered around, in addition to a Naegi family photo.
That's probably a little nerdy... ]
Green tea. Nothing fancy, really. [ But he can do water, and will just slide over into the kitchen area of the apartment to get that. ] I have some other sorts...I don't actually know what kind you like?
I'm way more a coffee guy, but . . . like, maybe not this late at night.
[Even though he's pretty sure all the coffee in the world couldn't keep him more awake than that dream.
The room's pretty much exactly what Leon expected of Naegi, which is comforting, especially right now. He's not sure what he would have thought if he'd walked into some crazy themed place--probably pinched himself. But this is good. It's the sort of room you want to be in after going through shit like this. Leon heads to the sofa to sit down and let the normalcy of the place sink in and chase away that still-dreaming feeling, little by little.
[ Naegi doesn't really drink too much of it himself but most of his classmates who are around do, SO HE MAY AS WELL... ]
...I'm...okay. I had a pretty weird dream...although I'm beginning to think it wasn't a dream. [ He'll go and grab that cup of water for Leon before he heads over to the couch, to offer it to his classmate. The clutter, if Leon had checked through it, seems to be some notes on Cerealia (a lot of them include "Kirigiri said", so it's clear the Detective is periodically reporting findings to him), a list of gift ideas for something or another ("teddy bear" is circled), and a magazine about ViViD games. ]

[And then, after another moment:]
you need anything
[He's not sure what he's offering, exactly. But he feels compelled to ask anyway, just in case.
Really, he's just quietly thankful he's even being asked to come.]

[ It's not really a situation for a smile, but he's trying to be encouraging. Or comforting.
How do you even do that through text messages...? ]
no subject
[There's nothing to lol about either, but the trappings of a normal text conversation do raise Leon's spirits a little.
True to his word, a few minutes later, there's a light knock at Naegi's door.]

And of course he's going to peek at the clutter.]
Green tea's cool.
[And then, after a beat:]
Sooo . . . you okay?
